cANCA-associated aortitis

چکیده
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is traditionally viewed as a small vessel disease. We report a patient with cANCA antibodies directed against proteinase-3 with asymptomatic aortic involvement, in combination with diffuse alveolar haemorrhage and pauci-immune, necrotizing crescentic glomerulonephritis. A review of the literature is discussed.

Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease with Cytoplasmic Staining of Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies
BACKGROUND It is unusual for the antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody with cytoplasmic pattern (cANCA) to present in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) without vasculitis. The purpose of this study was to describe the occurrence and characteristics of pediatrics IBD with cANCA. METHODS A retrospective review of pediatric IBD associated with cANCA serology in patients from King Abdu...
متن کاملRheumatoid arthritis-associated aortitis: a case report and literature review
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune inflammatory disorder that primarily affects the synovial joints. Rheumatoid vasculitis (RV) is an extra-articular manifestation of RA, and its association with aortitis is rare and not widely recognised. Here, we report the case of a 69-year-old woman with RA-associated aortitis and review the literature on rheumatoid aortitis. The mean oral s...
متن کاملPleural effusion associated with aortitis syndrome.
A patient with aortitis syndrome had a pleural effusion which subsided but reappeared with an exacerbation of aortitis symptoms while under antituberculosis treatment. The character of the fluid was that of an exudate, and the glucose concentration was normal. Clinical and laboratory features of the case suggest that the effusion was part of the aortitis syndrome per se.
متن کاملAortitis.
Aortitis is the all-encompassing term ascribed to inflammation of the aorta. The most common causes of aortitis are the large-vessel vasculitides giant cell arteritis (GCA) and Takayasu arteritis, although it also is associated with several other rheumatologic diseases. Infectious aortitis is a rare but potentially life-threatening disorder. In some cases, aortitis is an incidental finding at t...
متن کاملAortitis requiring aortic repair associated with glaucoma, thyroiditis, glaucoma, and neuropathy: case report
Aortitis may be due to infectious and non-infectious causes. We observed aortitis, associated with glaucoma, thyroiditis, pericarditis, pleural effusion and neuropathy in a 63-years old woman. Despite antibiotic therapy, inflammatory signs persisted and resolved only after initiation of glucocorticoid therapy. Increasing aortic ectasia necessitated resection of the ascending aorta and implantat...
